Edward A. Hartman, 74, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021. Ed, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Fort Totten, Queens, NY, to the late Elijah A. and Wilma M. Hartman. He attended Valley Stream Central High School and took classes at New York Institute of Technology. He was employed for 21 years for The Town of Hempstead Department of Buildings as Chief Plan Examiner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia R. Hartman; son, Edward A. (Kristine) Hartman, Jr., and grandson, Anthony J. Hartman, all of New Mexico; sisters, Linda (Chris) Spade and Eileen (Bill) Fontana, all of Florida; and sisters-in-law, Linda (Jim) Keene of Colorado. Ed is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, and many, many good friends.
Ed’s special interests included golf, playing guitar, radio controlled planes, and involvement in the Valley Stream, New York, Republican Club and The Town of Hempstead Kiwanis Club, serving as past president of both organizations.
The family will receive guests at a visitation on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Daniels Funeral Home, 4310 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho, NM from 12 noon to 2:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Mr. Hartman will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Vista Verde Memorial Park located at the same address.
