Edward Thielens Peeples

Peeples, Edward Thielens Career army officer, bank trust officer and world traveler, departed this world peacefully to be with his Lord on September 20, 2012 at age 96. Ed was a scion of an Illinois banking family but entered a 29 year military life after graduation from the University of Illinois in 1937. Duty stations included Fort Stevens, OR, WWII France and Germany, post war Berlin, Forts Sill and Leavenworth, Alaska, Washington, DC, Milwaukee and Taiwan, China. Retired as a colonel in 1966, Ed joined MandI Bank, Milwaukee, for productive years in the trust department. After a second retirement, he and late wife Catherine Ann (Carmichael) moved to a new home in Rio Rancho, NM. His 32 years in NM were actively spent in Rotary, church and neighborhood association functions, world travels with Catherine and later, good friend the late Jody Crawford, and walking the course at Chamisa Hills CC. He was a Master Mason and a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, National Sojourners, and the Albuquerque Petroleum club. He is survived by sons, Thomas and wife Susan of Michigan, James of New York; grandchildren, Alec and wife Ingrid, Claire and Aimee Peeples; sister, Persis-Jane Cline of New York, and a host of nephews, nieces and close and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St, SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, Ed requested that bequests be made to the donor��?�s favorite charity in his name. Interment will be beside his beloved Catherine at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Daniels Family Funeral Services
