Edward Werner Tune
Jan. 6, 1927 - April 26, 2011 Edward Werner Tune, 84, of Aztec, died Tuesday, April 26, in Aztec. He was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Denver, Colo., the son of Horace R. and Doris E. Tune. Ed graduated from South High School in Denver in January of 1945. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Merchant Marine and served two years, during which he "saw a lot of the world, and did learn a lot."
He married Betty A. Coyner in January of 1948. They lived in South Denver and raised three great kids, Lawrence, Ronald and Diane. They lost Ron to diabetes, but had a very good life in Denver. For 33 years, Ed drove a semi for Safeway. After living 50 years in Denver, Ed moved to Durango, Colo., as a relay driver.
In Durango, he met and married Janice Daley and made many very good friends there as Janice is a very good woman, may God bless her. Ed retired in 1988, and had many good since then. Due to his health, he moved to Aztec in 2008, to be cared for by his son, Larry Tune; and his granddaughter, Stacy Tune Engle. Ed is survived by his wife, Janice Tune; son, Larry Tune; daughter, Diane Tune; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. God bless all of them as Edward moves on to his "Next Adventure."
