Edwin Ray Johnston, 79, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 20, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. Edwin is survived by wife of 60 years, Hazel F. Mender Johnston; daughter, Karen Armstrong and husband David; son, Ray Johnston; daughter, Donna Jacobsen and husband Brad; grandchildren: Jason Armstrong, Brianna Peffinger and husband Patrick, Sara Armstrong, Kylie Jacobsen, Katherine Jacobsen, Jenna Jacobsen, Rachel Johnston and Shawn Johnston; and great-granddaughter, Keira Armstrong; and brothers, Walter Johnston and Roy Johnston. Born August 4, 1938 in Dyess, AR, Edwin was a 62 year resident of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Goldia Johnston; sister, Hazel; and brother, O.B.
　
Edwin is a retiree of PNM; a member of Del Norte Baptist Church for 60+ years; the Ballut Abyad Shriners; Sandia Mountain Lodge #72 (Grand Master 1994); Scottish Rite of Free Masons (32°); Ham operator with the Upper Rio FM Society, (N50BZ); and member of Manzano Mesa Pickle Ball Assoc. Eddie was beloved by his family and friends and his example and influence will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Daniels Funeral Services, Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, 1:00 pm, at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd NE. Interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Edwin's honor to the American Cancer Society.
