Efren Ruiz, born April 13, 1930, passed away on March, 11, 2025, at the age of 94. He was a Corporal in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Efren went on to be employed as a Security Officer and then proudly worked for the US Postal Service until he retired after being employed there for 27 years. He is survived by his wife of the family home, Delores J Ruiz, sons Efren Jr, Arthur Rodney, and Patrick Lloyd, stepchildren Tarra Candelaria, Joseph Fannin, Belinda LaBounty, and Debbie Miller, sisters Rose Duran and Reina Montoya, and 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his sons, Maria Evila, his parents, Flora and Jose Maria, grandchildren Patrick Jesse and Dionna Rose, brothers Eloy, Dennis, and Tony, and sister Stella. Visitation will be on March 27, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Daniel’s Funeral Home, 4310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 with services directly following. A military honor burial will commence immediately after services at Vista Verde Cemetery (same address) Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Montoya, Michael Martinez, Rodney Ruiz, Nathaniel Ruiz, Wilfred Valles, and Joseph Fannin.
We are requesting that you wear jeans and a comfortable shirt. This is something Efren had spoken about a few times before passing. He did not want anyone to dress up for his services and to just be themselves.
