left us to start a new journey. She passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Socorro Good Samaritan. She was born in Marshall, CO to John S. and Verbena Earl on August 18, 1912. She had just recently celebrated her 103rd birthday. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Tripp Sr.; her daughter, Karen; her parents; brothers, Tommy and John Earl; and two sisters Maybelle Jones and Margie Collins. She is survived by her son, Don Jr. and wife Rosie; her grandchildren, Don Tripp III and Kim Gonzales and husband, Lonnie. She was the proud great-grandmother to Thea Rindahl, Donald Tripp IV and Casey Tripp; Teghann, Jordan and McKenna Gonzales; and her three great-great grandchildren, Ethan, Ella and Emily. Elinor and Don began their life together in Boulder, CO. They were not only life partners but business partners as well. Their various business ventures took them from Boulder, to Pasadena, CA, Albuquerque, NM, El Paso, TX, Ruidoso, NM and finally settling in Socorro, NM in 1963 where they owned and operated Tripp Jewelers. When Don Sr. passed away, Elinor continued to run the store until 2004. She loved greeting and serving each and every customer who walked through the door. She and Don always said “the customer is always right” and they enjoyed giving quality service to all their customers. Elinor was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, a past member of the New Mexico Retail Jewelers Association and the Socorro County Chamber of Commerce.The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Socorro Good Sam for their years of gentle, loving care that they gave to Elinor and to her ‘special caregiver’ Angela Hartfield.Services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Daniels Family Funeral Services ~ Socorro Chapel with Deacon Nick Keller officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Tripp III, Lonnie Gonzales, Donald Tripp, Casey Tripp, Jordan Gonzales, Rick Coddington, Pat Gonzales and Willie Valles. Honorary Pallbearers are Thea Rindahl, Teghann Gonzales and McKenna Gonzales. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in her honor to Socorro Good Samaritan, PO Box 1279, Socorro, NM 87801.
