Eliodoro Justin Plath, affectionately known as Eli, passed away on April 14, 2025, in Taos, New Mexico, at the age of 41. Born on May 2, 1983, in Clovis, New Mexico, Eli was the beloved son of Charles Plath and Leonor Godinez-Plath.
A graduate of Clovis High School, Class of 2001, Eli went on to earn his degree from the University of New Mexico in 2005. Since 2020, he was a dedicated employee at Tri-Core Labs, where he was respected by colleagues and admired for his intellect and quiet generosity.
Eli is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Leonor; his sister, Esperanza Gater, and her husband Will Gater, both of Albuquerque; and his cherished nephews, Paul and Henry Gater, also of Albuquerque. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his thoughtful presence, and the deep love he held for his family and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Eli's memory to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society, 100 Caja del Rio Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507 — a cause close to Eli’s heart.
Eli’s life was a quiet testament to compassion, loyalty, and warmth. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
