Elis Bustos Torres

Elis B. Torres was called home by Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 102 years old.  She was the daughter of Luis Bustos and Paublita (Romo). She was born on July 15, 1915 in San Juan, NM (Chimajal) which is east of Canon Blanco on HWY 3.

Elis was proud of the years she spent serving as a Foster Grandparent at Valley School in the West Las Vegas District. She touched the lives of so many over the years leaving everyone with memories of love and kindness. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Villanueva NM and later Our Lady of Belen. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society in Villanueva. She loved to read her bible, draw, paint and quilt but her greatest love was her children and family.

She was proceeded in death by (Parents) Luis and Paubilta Bustos, (Husband) Faustin B. Torres, (Son) Ignacio {Shorty} Saiz, (Stepson’s) Willie Torres & wife Leandra, Alfonso Torres & wife Paula, Celestino Torres, Faustincito Jr. Torres,  (Grandson) Arturo {Tudy} Sena, (Sisters) Petronila Bustos, Francis Boyer, Apolonia Martinez,  (Brothers) Filadelfio Bustos, Enrigquez (Henry) Bustos, Phil Bustos.

She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother to the 6th generation. She is survived by (Daughters) Vivian Sena  ( Alfonso), Annalee Torres, Cynthia Abeyta (Bryan)  (Son) Ramon Saiz (Lydia) (Stepdaughters) Eutima Wong, Ursinia Valdez (Richard), Irene Sena, Teresa Maes (Gilbert)  Bella Torres, (Stepson) Ralf Torres and 46 Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous great, great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandchild ending with a six generation legacy. Rosie Salazar (whom she loved like a daughter) and husband Dan, many nieces and nephews.

Elis (Mita) paid for and arranged her own funeral and cremation services over 25 years ago and her wishes were that the services be family directed.
