Elisaida "Ida" Montoya, 88, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, April 30th, 2009 in Albuquerque. She was born December 13, 1920 in LaJara, New Mexico to Jesus and Paulita Gutierrez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Montoya, a sister, Pablita Cordova and a brother, Fabian Gutierrez. She is survived by three children, Rita Southwick of Thornton, Colorado, Josephine Richards of Denver, Colorado and Emily Sandoval of Albuquerque, a sister, Corina Morales of LaJara, a sister-in-law, Eloisa Gutierrez of LaJara, son-in-law, Daniel Southwick and brother-in-law, Emilio Cordova, three grandchildren, Joey Richards, Kevin Sandoval and Anna Marie Southwick and two great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jaydian Richards. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Ida was a lifetime member of The Legion of Mary, Our Lady of Grace Prasidium. She quilted, knitted, crocheted and was a great cook.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Joey Richards, Kevin Sandoval Anna Marie Southwick and her nieces, Tillie Gutierrez, Norma Morales and Sally Casaus.
