Elizabeth Claire Brown

Brown , Elizabeth C our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Magdalena, NM on October 3, 2013. She was born in Council Grove, KS on December 11, 1924 to Walter Harold and Marguerite Irene (Miller) Weirather. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Charles Hector Brown in October of 1999. Elizabeth is survived by her devoted children Elizabeth Kelly; Nancy Cortner and husband, Mark; Marguerite Miller; and Clark Brown. She also enjoyed her loving grandchildren, Jared Kelly and wife, Heather; Ariella Kelly Schick and husband, Phil; Owen Cortner; and Claire Cortner; and one dear great granddaughter, Iris Kelly. Elizabeth received her Bachelor�s Degree in Home Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and taught school in House and Santa Rosa, NM. She was a 25 year resident of Albuquerque prior to moving to Magdalena, where she has lived for 40 years. In Albuquerque she was a member of the Social Order of Beauceant. She received a fifty-year membership pin from Order of Eastern Star. She loved to read, cook, garden, sew and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed traveling.
