Elizabeth Mary Huerta

Huerta, Elizabeth Mary Age 55, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. She was born in Prague, OK on October 16, 1957, to Kenna and Dolores Harjo. Elizabeth was a registered member of the Colorado River Tribe of Arizona. She graduated from West Mesa High School and went on to attend Merced College in California where she received an associate of science degree. Elizabeth joined the Navy, her last ranking was second petty officer first class; she received a National Defense service Medal, three good conduct awards, Navy achievement medal with three gold stars, Meritorious unit commendation, Navy unit commendation and Sailor of the Year. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenna Harjo. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Dolores (Kevin) Guzman, Misha Jah Halen Huerta, Dominik Toi Huerta; mother, Dolores Lomayesva Harjo; three grandchildren, Meriella Deja Huerta, Naomi Alexis Huerta, Cerenity Ava Begay; sister, Karen Kaye Harjo and brother Kenna Harjo; two nephews; three nieces and 4 great nieces and nephews. Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 3:00 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Services.
