Elizabeth Jan"" Moore

MOORE - Elizabeth Joann (Jan) Curtis Moore (1927 - 2011) - Mom to Ronnie, Pat, Gail and Bobby, Martha and Rush, left us peacefully on April 19, 2011, Passover day. She survived miraculously in 1967 after being hit by a semi-truck in Tijeras Canyon while walking across Old Hwy 66. She was in a coma for 6 months and in Ft. Bayard hospital for 6 years. Jan came home to her family oasis in Tijeras and with the help of family and friends she continued her journey. She later was so happy to be independent and moved into Encino Gardens East apartment where she continued to enjoy her life and many friendships. During this time she logged thousands of hours as a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital escort service over a 26 year time-span. She's leaving behind Frances and Elaine Giles, her sister-in-law and niece in Georgia, many cousins in Iowa and extended family Linda, Chris, Megan, and Henry. She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters, Michelle, Corinna, Alia, Mariah and Keren Gaia and her great-grandsons, Cassius and Kenai. We would like to thank Manzano Del Sol, Singing Arrow Manor, Dr. Standoli, Vista Care Hospice, family and friends, in helping Mom through her last year's health struggles.
