PARKER- Elizabeth (Betty) Lee Parker, 77, born February 15, 1934, Beckley, West Virginia, passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father June 18, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed away at home surrounded by her children and loved ones. Born to Lieutenant Colonel Orval Calvin Thompson and Gladys Irene Dudley. Survivors include one sister Ann Marshall, a brother, Tom Thompson (Chris), Children Marilyn (Robert) Black, Gayle (Mark) Hutchins, Joleen (Terry) Bingham, Carl E. Good III, and John (Janet) Good, 17 grandchildren and 25great-grandchldren, and beloved and special caregiver Amy Gallegos. Preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Carl E. Good Jr., Burton Parker, a son-in-law, George Tracey, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Good, a grandson Joshuah Good, and many dear friends. Our mother loved life, was well educated, and a wonderful cook. Her life was filled with the constant need to serve others. Through all of her trails in life she persevered with a positive attitude. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as worker in the Albuquerque LDS Temple. Her most recent employment was with US Forest Service as a bookkeeper. Her hobbies include having a private pilot's license, riding her favorite horse Freckles, tending her rose garden, playing cards, reading, playing the piano, crocheting, and sewing. She had wonderful handwriting and was a model in young womanhood. She grew up in the depression and was an army brat. She traveled to many places around the world during her childhood. One of her favorite places was Panama where her father was instrumental in the building of the Panama Canal. A viewing will be held in Relief Society Room, 12:00PM, Monday June 20, 2011, with service to follow at 1:00PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1100 Montano NW, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please give to charity of your choice. ‘There never was a woman like her.
