Wells, Elizabeth Brainerd Age 88, a resident of Bernalillo, NM for the past five years, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was born a Valentine's baby in Boston, MA on February 14, 1925 to Doris and Edward Brainerd. Elizabeth was known as "Liz" to all her close friends. Liz was a world traveler, traveling to over 54 counties. She lived 5 years in Guatemala, and also lived in Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson, Virginia and Vail. During her world travels, Liz fell in love with Egypt. Being an avid reader she devoured any book on Egypt and became quiet an expert on Egyptology. Liz loved the skies of New Mexico. She became very interested in birds and had several feeding stations but her claim to fame were the roadrunners that came to visit her. She had up to 12 roadrunners at one time visiting. This earned her the title of "The Roadrunner Lady". Liz also loved cats and had two Siamese named Isis and Ramses. Many an hour was enjoyed watching the cats communicate to the roadrunners. The roadrunners came to visit each day during her illness. Liz's favorite pastimes were traveling, reading, birding, gardening and eating. Liz is survived by her two daughter's, Chip Kamber, Julie Spana as well as her loving step-children, Bobbie Selvig, Reed Kamber and Lee Turner. She is also survived by her two cats, Isis and Rames.
