Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, went into the loving arms of the Lord on November 23, 2015 after a brief struggle with leukemia. Ellen was born on November 12, 1934 to Nellie and Halbert Catterson, in Oregon, Missouri. She married her sweetheart
C. C. France on August 31, 1952.
Ellen was predeceased by daughter Laurinda, son Terry, mother and father Nellie and Halbert Catterson, and brother Jim. Ellen is survived by husband Charles, sister, Ann Tekin, brother, Lewis and Donna Catterson, daughters, Deanna Martin and husband John, and Karen Pierce and husband Chris, grandsons Kevin Baker and wife Addie, David Martin and wife Nancy, John Pierce and fiancé Lauren Polizzi, granddaughters, Krystle, Kathleen and husband Derek, Melody Burrus and husband Ryan, Maloy Pierce and husband Marshall, great grandchildren, Joslyn, Kasey, Justin, Jackson, Wesley, Ronan, Scarlett, and Jase, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Ellen was a truly gentle and humble servant, beautiful inside and out. She was a member of Heights Christian Church for 52 years where she served in the women’s ministry, was a member of the missions committee, taught Sunday school, and taught Junior Church for 30 years. Ellen also served as treasurer on the state dental political action committee, was a precinct chairman for the Republican Party, was active in the Dental Auxiliary, and was a scout leader for the Brownies and Girl Scouts.
A Memorial Service for La Vida Llena friends will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 8:30 a.m at Carter Hall. A Funeral Service for family, friends, and church family will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m at Heights Christian Church, 6935 Comanche Rd NE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE.
