Our precious mom, Ellia Josephina Trujillo, returned home this morning. She was 88 years old and the most courageous and beautiful soul we ever encountered. Our father Steve Trujillo, Jr. met her when they were 16 years old and married at 18. Their marriage endured for 70 years. Our mom modeled for us: compassion, persistence, creative expression and bravery. It was fitting she was born with bright red hair. She was known as "Red" at her first job as a "soda jerk" at the Creamery in Santa Fe. She was also known as "E.T." during her lengthy career at the phone company.

Our parents had four children. They lost our eldest sister, Patricia Ruby Trujillo, to pneumonia when she was only 5 months old. This was a pain they could barely endure, but it never shook their faith.

Our mom is survived by her husband, Steve Trujillo, Jr.; son, Steven Arthur Trujillo and wife, Karen Trujillo; daughters, Deborah Ellia Carnie and Diana Patricia Trujillo.

Her five grand children include: Michelle Lee Concho, Gary Wayne Carnie ,Jr., Ellia Asha di Ningrat, Steven Michael Trujillo, Liu Seong Omar di Ningrat. She also has seven great-grand children, two great-great grand children and five surviving sisters.
