Eloisa Chavez

CHAVEZ - Eloisa (Castillo) Chavez, 103, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Las Cruces, NM. Eloisa was born on October 6, 1907 in Santa Rita, NM to Sylvester and Manuelita (Chavez) Castillo. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mela Herrera and husband, Jake of Las Cruces, NM; her devoted son, Reyes Chavez and wife, Rita of Albuquerque, NM; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; her two brothers, Sylvester Castillo; and Jose Castillo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Eloisa was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. She loved gardening, farming, and was an exceptional seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting. Eloisa had a great faith for the lord. And the love she showed to so many was her legacy. Eloisa was preceded in death by her husband, seven brothers, and three sisters. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 2 " 5:30 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Socorro Chapel. A Rosary will be recited also on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Polvadera, NM. A Mass of Resurrection will be on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church with Monsignor Leo Gomez as Celebrant. Interment will be held in the Polvadera Cemetery.
