Mr. Eloy Montoya passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 92 years old.
Eloy is survived by his son Eloy Montoya Jr. and wife Veronica, his daughter Yvonne “Bonnie” Martinez and husband Rick, his granddaughters Roxanne, Miranda and Cecilee, and by great-grandchildren Xavier, Dana Rose and Santiago “Saint”. Eloy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Eloy is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Montoya, father Juan Montoya, mother Epifanita Montoya, brothers, Max Sanchez, Billy Montoya, Candido Sanchez, Benny Montoya, sisters, Louise Padilla and Anita Duran.
Eloy was born Sunday, August 17th, 1930, in Estancia, New Mexico, to Epifanita and Juan Montoya. Eloy married Ms. Dorothy Padilla on Saturday, August 11th, 1962, in Albuquerque, NM. They were married for fifty-seven years and had two children. Eloy served in the United States Army for two years and earned the rank of Sergeant. Afterwards, Eloy was employed by Creamland Dairies for forty-two years.
Services will take place at San Jose Parish, located at 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87102. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 12:00PM, Mass will begin thereafter at 12:30PM. Interment will take place directly afterwards at Mount Calvary Cemetery, located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87102.
Pallbearers: Rick Martinez, Roland Montoya, Richard Santos, Leonard Bernal, Gilbert Aldaz, and Paul Chavez.
Honorary Pallbearers: Victor Moya, Anthony Chavez and Robert Sena.
