Eloy Max Sanchez

SANCHEZ - Eloy Max Sanchez, 77 a resident of Tome, passed away on Friday December 11, 2009. Mr. Sanchez began a 50 year career as a local businessman and held many positions including School Board Member of the Cimmaron Schools in the 1960's, firefighter, little league coach, Maverick and Sherrif's Posse Deputy in Taos in the 1980's, as well as a mechanic and most recently a school bus contractor. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Eva B., children, Wallace (Margaret) Sanchez, Yvonne (Joe) Romero, Selma (Filbert) Salazar, Georgianna (Roy) Gonzalez, Maxcine (Jimmy) Bates, Joseph (Alicia) Sanchez, Raul Sanchez and Maximillano (Jessica) Sanchez; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; siblings, Santiago Sanchez, Lorenzo (Julia) Sanchez, Elsie Nolan and Felimon (Helen) Sanchez, Jr. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7 Church Loop, Tome. Max was an inspiration to all who lived and met him, he was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing, hunting, riding horses. He was active in his spiritual community and enjoyed travelling to different parts of the world. He had a zest for life and his family was his biggest accomplishment.
