Elsie M. Huntington, 98, of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008, in Farmington. Elsie was born on November 27, 1909, in Irene, Kansas. She lived in the Farmington area for over 55 years.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Huntington; her son, William Huntington and wife Virginia; her parents, Richard and Florence Steele; brothers, Richard Steele and James Steele; and one sister, Irene Stafford.
She is survived by her son, Roy W. Huntington and wife Jessie; five granddaughters, Julie Green and husband Melvin, Rhonda Huntington, Carol Huntington, Crystal Schmitt and husband Charlie, and Vickie Barker and husband Rusty; one grandson, Billy Huntington; eight great grandchildren, Tony Sandoval and wife Jenny, David Turley, Jessica Blake and husband Skylar, Danielle Austgen, Chris Sanchez, Cassandra Sanchez, Alexis Barker, and Justin Barker; three great great grandchildren, Anthony, Kevin, and Karilynn Sandoval; and many nephews and nieces.
Elsie was loved and respected by her family and friends. She lived a very good life and remained healthy for 98 years. She was an independent lady with a great sense of humor. She looked forward to playing cards and eating lunch at the Farmington Senior Citizen Center with her friends.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She worked very hard taking care of her family and home. She was a wonderful grandmother. She loved playing with her grandchildren when they were younger and enjoyed visiting with them as she grew older. We are all so lucky to have so many precious memories of Grandma. Elsie will be missed by many and we were definitely blessed to have her in our lives.
