Elva (Del Curto) Jennings

Elva (Del Curto) Jennings passed away on March 27, 2022, in Rio Rancho, NM at the age of 74.

Elva is survived by her daughter, Kelli Jennings of Corrales, NM; grandchildren, Aidan and Reina Jennings-Quattropani of Corrales, NM; daughter-in-law, Mary Quattropani of Corrales, NM; brothers, Mario Del Curto of Los Lunas, NM and Richard Del Curto of Luis Lopez, NM; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Mel Jennings; her mother, Martha Del Curto; and her father, Levi Del Curto.

Elva was born on June 6, 1947, to a ranching family in Socorro, NM. In 1965, she turned 18 years-old, graduated from Socorro High School, and married Mel. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. Elva was a talented teacher who built rapport with the most challenging kids and advocated for them for over 40 years.

Elva loved spending time with family and friends, especially if there was dancing, wine, and laughter. She enjoyed animals from hummingbirds to horses, sports from waterskiing to tennis, and music from Luciano Pavarotti to Marty Robbins.

Elva requested a party instead of funeral services. Please look for a future announcement from the family regarding date, time, and place.
