Elvira "Vera" Horn

Elvira “Vera” Horn, age 83, passed away March 12, 2025, in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born on December 21, 1941, to Dan and Mary Mela Mares Sedillo Sr.

She graduated from Raton High School

Her greatest accomplishments were owning and operating a small sewing business. She taught Sunday School and was the church pianist. Most importantly, she raised five boys.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Raton and attended Legacy Church in Rio Rancho, NM.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Mary Sedillo; first spouse Isaac V. Bunker; second spouse, Wayne Horn; son Victor Mark Bunker; sister, Martha Mora; brother, Charles Sedillo; and grandson Zander Osborn.

Vera is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Maranda Mercy of Rio Rancho, NM; son Daniel Bunker of Edgewood, NM; son and daughter-in-law, David and Tessie Bunker of Rio Rancho, NM; son and partner, Jonathon Bunker and Jalane Pepin of Raton, NM; son Robert Bunker of Raton, NM; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by her family and friends and all who knew and loved her.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, 244 N 1st St., Raton, NM. Funeral service to be held April 3, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1345 Brilliant St, Raton, NM, followed by the burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Raton, NM.
