Emerson Allen Maestas

Emerson Allen Maestas, 60, A resident of Rio Rancho, NM went to be with our Lord on June 5th, 2022 after a short illness. Emerson was born on February 15, 1962. He was preceded in death by his father Lee Maestas, grandparents Juan D. and Corina Maestas, Frumencio and Eliza Rodarte; sister Patricia Armijo and sister-in-law Debra Sanchez.

Emerson was born in Grants, New Mexico. Emerson was raised in New Mexico where he was a lifelong resident. For the last 30 years, he was a resident in Rio Rancho, NM. As a young adult Emerson was a member of the Gallup Diocese Search for Christian Maturity.  Emerson worked in the Uranium mines, for the Local Carpenters 1319, and most recently for the State of New Mexico, Air Guard. Emerson served as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council (6696). He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a Dodger, Steeler, and Lobo fan. 

Emerson will be deeply missed by all of his family who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Louise Maestas; sons Timothy, Anthony, and wife Melanie; grandchildren Santiago, Delilah, and Joleen Maestas; mother Belinda Maestas; sister, Brenda, and husband Paul Sanchez; Brothers, Lee, and wife, Betty, Charles and wife Dephine; brother-in-law; Dennis Armijo, Joseph Sanchez, Nick, and wife Kori Sanchez, Albert and wife Debbie, Chris and wife Jessie Sanchez; sister-in-law Eva and husband Mel Montoya, and Theresa Sanchez; nieces and nephews Sarah Maestas Barnes, Adrian, Travis, Kyle, Kaitlin Maestas, Justin, and Tyler Armijo, Leslie, Eric, Jared, Andrew, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, Francine, Isaac, Albert, Monique, Vanessa, Nicole, Shelby Sanchez; Dominic, Nicholas, Nina Montoya, and Tammy Henson; Tios and Tias, Franklin and Margaret, Henry, Oliver and Elsie, Juan and Frances and Antonio Rodarte, Anita and Maximo Gurule, Mary and Cecil Stark, and Christina and Gilbert Bustamante. 

Pallbearers:  Anthony Maestas, Justin Armijo, Kyle Maestas, Tyler Armijo, Albert Sanchez, and Eric Sanchez.

Honorary pallbearers:  Timothy Maestas, Jared Sanchez, Lee Maestas, and Charles Maestas.

Services begin with a viewing and visitation on Friday, June 10, 2022, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Daniels Family Funeral Service, 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Recitation of the Rosary will begin on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with mass immediately following at 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m., Camposanto de Santa Barbara Cemetery in Rodarte, New Mexico.
