It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Emilio Rivera, age 70, at his home in Rio Rancho, NM. He was surrounded by his loving family. Emilio was born in Willard, New Mexico, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona returning back to New Mexico in 1977.
Emilio is proceeded in death by his parents Juan Rivera and Valeria Aragon Rivera; brothers, Noel (Lino) Rivera, and Juan (Bino) Rivera.
He is survived by his loving wife Bernice Rivera of 35 years, siblings, Joe Rivera (Dottie), Juan Rivera (Gloria), Eduardo Rivera, Margaret Apariclo (Chino), Barbara Ann Rivera, Judy Rivera; Children, Veronica Gutierrez (Nelson); Emilio Rivera (Cynthia); Monica Lucero (Robert); Dawn Rivera (Johnny Marshall); Regina Herdez; Michael Garcia (Beverly); his 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Emilio was not only a proud Vietnam veteran, but he also served as an esteemed Police Officer for the State of New Mexico for 26 years. His hobbies included welding, growing grapes, and making wine.
Emilio made everyone laugh. He was always the center of attention and the life of the party. He made friends with almost everyone he met. He loved all his family so deeply and they all adored him. He will be forever missed.
Visitations will be held Thursday, September 10th, 2020, at 9:30 a.m., Rosary & Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.- Church of Incarnation- 2309 Monterrey Rd NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144.
