Lerma, Amalia Imelia "Emily" "Donnie"

Age 89, passed away into the arms of our Lord, Friday, March 9, 2018. She was born in Silver City, NM on May 5, 1928, to Felipe and Manuela (Ferris) Lerma and she grew up in the Silver City and Reserve area. Emily lived all over the continental United States as well as Hawaii. She moved back to New Mexico in the 70's where she ran the White Way Cafe in Glenwood as well as the Rode-way Inn in Reserve for several years before finally moving to Pie Town, NM where she made her home for more than 40 years. She ran the "Break 21 Cafe" and was on of the original group of residents that began the Pie Festival in 1980. Most recently she has been a resident of Socorro, NM. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Norris; her niece, Ester Portello; 6 grandchildren, Mary Ann Klepfer, James Mishoe, Scott Barnum, Kelly Reid, Collins Norris and Thomas Norris, 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Burial Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Pie Town Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join family and friends in a Celebration of Life at the Pie Town Community Center from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
