Emma A Sedillo

Sedillo, Emma A. 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. She was born in Corona, NM on November 25, 1925 to Jauquin and Ysabel (Montoya) Amaya. She was a resident of Socorro for the majority of her life, although she did reside in Oregon and Nevada for a brief time. Many knew Ms. Emma as their favorite waitress at the Vagabond Restaurant, which she enjoyed for many years. She loved to travel and always had an adventurous spirit about her. She was always on the go and kept in touch by writing letters to all of her family, no matter where she was. Emma found great peace and strength from her devotion to her God and was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, here in Socorro. She enjoyed her often visits to the Socorro Senior Citizen Center. Emma loved to dance and always had a sweet smile on her face, kind words and compliments and a very positive way about her. She never met a stranger, as she was friends with everyone she ever met. Emma was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She will be remembered for her stylish dressing, beauty and grace. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; friend and father of her children, Jake Sedillo; and her sons, Jacobi D. Sedillo and wife, Frances; and Christopher Sedillo. Emma is survived by her sons, Ronnie D. Sedillo and wife, Gloria; and Leroy D. Sedillo; her devoted grandchildren, Djuna Faust and husband, Curt; Delene Sedillo and husband, Lark Howorth; Deidre Lam and husband, Micheal; Janell Sedillo; Dean Sedillo; Delicia Chavez, and husband, James; Sheila Sedillo; Lisa Sedillo; Spring Sedillo; and many other grandchildren. Emma was also survived by her great grandchildren and other loving family members and close friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro.
