Emma G. Ferris

Emma G. Ferris went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 90. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was the third of seven children. Emma was born on August 5, 1926 in Jarales, NM, to Antonio and Josefita Gallegos.  She married Charles Ferris on August 9, 1947 in Belen, NM, they were married for 57 years.

Before Emma was married she was a Nurse’s Aide at Carrie Tingley Hospital in
Tor C, NM. Emma was a homemaker, and she enjoy gardening, sewing, crocheting, and loved to sing.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; son-in-law, Juan Segovia, and six brothers, and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Jerry and Crystal Ferris, Magdelene and Paul Padilla, Lorraine Segovia, and Marie and Danny Hoagland; twelve grandchildren, Tim and Sonia Padilla, Stephanie and Michael Peters, Darlene and Reza Ghoreyshi, Sandra and Jackie Segovia, Lisa and Josh Himebaugh, Courtney and Evan Hoagland; four great grandchildren, Danielle and Marissa Padilla, Ashley Peters, and Darius Ghoreyshi.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Carlos Figueroa and his family, Claudia, and the many caregivers at Casa Mis Abuelos.  

A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, followed by a rosary at 9:30 am also at Daniels Wyoming Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 also at Daniels Wyoming Chapel.  A Reception will follow the service in the Wyoming Sun Room Reception Center.

Interment will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe.

Pallbearers are, Randy Abeyta, Tony Carrillo, Reza Ghoreyshi, Josh Himebaugh,
Evan Hoagland, and Timothy Padilla.

Honorary Pallbearers are, Anthony Carrillo, Charlie Carrillo, Greg Carrillo, and Carlos Figueroa.
