Sandoval, Epifania M.
Age 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, was called to his Eternal home by the Lord, Thursday, February 18, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family. Epifania was born to Jesus and Isidora Montoya in San Miguel, just south of Cuba, New Mexico, where she grew up with two brothers and nine sisters.  Upon graduating from Cuba High School Epifania joined her sister and worked in California for several years.  She subsequently married Sisto Sandoval and dedicated her life to her husband and six children. She lived the rest of her life as a resident of Cuba, NM, was a member of the Catholic Church, and a beloved woman whose kindness and faith touched many lives.  She was a respected icon in her community sought out for her wisdom and will be dearly missed.  Eppie, as she is fondly known, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sisto Sandoval, a daughter, Rosalinda Soder, and a grandson, Robert Smith. Eppie is survived by her loving children and spouses, Sisto Sandoval, III and wife, Carla, Rudy Sandoval and wife, Belinda, Evelyn Smith and husband, Frank, Mary Sandoval, Esther Hernandez and husband, Mark; 13 grandchildren, Frank, Edward, Chris, Elizabeth, Sisto V, Shurie, Seth, Rudy Jr., Kenneth, Bryan, Adriana and Mark II; ten great-grandchildren and; four sisters, Elizaida Herrera, Sister Mary Agnes Montoya, Gloria Garcia, and Cipriana Baca and many nieces and nephews.
Eppie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. A Rosary for Eppie will be recited Friday, February 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Pallbearers will be Frank Smith, IV, Sisto Sandoval V, Christopher Smith, Rudy Sandoval Jr., Seth Sandoval and Mark Hernandez II.  Honorary bearers will be Edward Smith and Kenneth Sandoval.  The family respectfully requests Memorial Contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Church, P.O. Box 40, Cuba, NM 87013.
