Age 99, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021. He was born in San Antonito, NM on September 11, 1921, to Lucio Garcia and Flora Rael Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucio Garcia and Flora Rael Garcia; his wife of 30 years, Mary P. Garcia; sons, Richard Garcia, Johnny Garcia and Ronnie Garcia; grandson, Jesse Garcia; granddaughter, Yvonne Garcia Lott; two great grandsons, Isaiah and Felix the 3rd Gutierrez.
Epi is survived by his: daughters, Janet Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, Carol Garcia of Victorville, CA and Flora Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Mike Garcia of Globe, AZ and Charles Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; 17 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and European-African-Middle Eastern Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Expert Rifle Badge. He was a member of American Legion Post 99.
He was employed for 35 years on Sandia (Kirtland) Base.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
