Eric Daniel Lanphere, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2018, following a lengthy illness.
Eric was born on December 29, 1936, in Toledo, OH. He earned his BA degree at Amherst College before attending Michigan Law School.
Eric was a courageous and brilliant trial attorney who stood unwaveringly for the truth. Eric’s stellar reputation was well known throughout Albuquerque’s legal community. He was respected by his peers and associates, and he was deeply loved and cherished by his family and close friends. He will be immeasurably missed by all who knew him.
Eric leaves behind his devoted wife of 48 years, Carolyn; his son Eric Lanphere and Eric’s wife, Debbie; stepdaughter Kimberley Lang; his beloved grandchildren, Daniel Lanphere, of Corrales, NM; twins Brittany Lang and Maggie Lang, of San Diego, CA; and Geneva and Giles Kirshner, of Thousand Oaks, CA. Eric was preceded in death by his only brother, Lloyd Lanphere, his stepdaughter Marcelle Kirshner, of Thousand Oaks, CA, and grandson Tommy Lang, of Albuquerque, NM.
A service will be held in honor of Eric’s life on Friday, November 16, 2018, at Hope Evangelical Free Church, located at 4710 Juan Tabo NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, at 3:00 pm. Cremation has taken place, following Eric’s expressed wishes. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
The family requests that contributions please be made to Hope Evangelical Free Church, in lieu of flowers.
