Celebration of Life for Eric L. Moen
April 7, 1955 - December 20, 2017
Eric Moen was born at Ortonville Hospital in Ortonville, Minnesota on April 7, 1955 to the Artichoke Township farm family of O.C. and Mary Jane Moen. He was the second born of four boys and two girls. When Eric was seven years old, the family moved to a dairy farm in Otrey Township, Minnesota where Eric grew to adulthood, farmed, milked cows, and baked the best pies ever. Eric attended grade school and high school in Ortonville, Minnesota, graduating in 1973, after which he attended college at the University of Minnesota in Waseca.
After College, Eric farmed for ten years and then moved on to pursue another career. He moved to Jackson, Michigan to work with his Uncle Allan Moen and study heating and air conditioning systems. He then moved on to Vail, Colorado to start an HVAC and appliance repair business, and to downhill ski in his spare time.
Eric traveled extensively, and during one trip, he met the love of his life, Ana. They married on October 30, 1999 at a traditional Mexican wedding in Ana's hometown of Zacoalco de Torres, Jalisco, Mexico. Their daughter Cassandra was born on December 10, 2002, and has traveled with them ever since.
They have spent many years in their current home town of Bernalillo, New Mexico where Eric worked as an HVAC technician at Hyatt Regency Tamaya. They have also spent a great deal of time in Ana's home town, where they bought and rebuilt a beautiful brick retirement home.
Eric had a zest for life. Early in life he loved to climb trees, ride bicycles backwards, fish, and ski at Vail backwards down the Black Diamond trails while shooting video footage of his Dad learning to ski. Later in life he gardened, baked pastries, and prepared meals for parties of all sizes. He loved to build all manner of things including zip lines, for his daughter, nieces, and nephews to play on outdoors.
Eric is preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles, and his niece Jodi Lynn.
He is survived by his wife Ana and daughter Cassandra, brothers Chris (Donna) Moen, Karl (Sandy) Moen, Marc (Lynette) Moen, sisters Karen (Brad) Borg, and Leah (Frank) Kellen, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Will the circle be unbroken

There's a better home a-waiting
