Eric Andrew Nelson

Eric Andrew Nelson, 81, of Farmington, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, in Farmington. He was born June 17, 1928, in Laramie, Wyo., to Loyal and Susan Nelson. Eric graduated from high school and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He loved classical music and absolutely loved his animals and all others. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by LaVerna J. Nelson, his wife of 41 years; his younger brother, Bill Nelson and his wife, Marguerite, of Laramie; stepdaughter, Debra J. (Daryl) Orbeck of Gillette, Wyo.; three stepsons, Rocky E. Neal (Dee) of St. George, Utah, Marty D. Neal (Deborah) of Gillette and Shane D. Neal (Kate) of Rock Springs, Wyo. Eric also had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric's memory to The Pet Project, Regional Animal Shelter, 901 Fairgrounds Road, Farmington, NM 87401.
