Erlinda A. Montoya

December 12, 1934 — June 30, 2024

Albuquerque

Erlinda A. Montoya, 89, a life-long resident of Cuba, NM passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

She is survived by her children, Joann Trujillo and husband Leonard of Albuquerque, Belinda Sandoval and husband Rudy of Bartlesville, OK, Sandra Mirabal and husband Steve of Albuquerque, Christine Montoya and husband Christopher of Forest Grove, OR, Danny Montoya and wife, Sandra of Phoenix, AZ, 14 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Montoya, brothers Frank and Eugene Atencio, sisters Martha Gutierrez and Cecelia Aragon.

Erlinda was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and was very involved in her church. Over her lifetime she had many different jobs, some of which included babysitting, working in the school cafeteria, and in her later years was a senior care companion. She was always wanting to help someone in need, whether it was driving them places, giving them a hand in cleaning or painting, or just giving them a few dollars. In her later years she started to lose her vision and the ability to drive and even do some things she loved. However, this didn't keep her from staying in contact with her friends and family. She loved talking with them on the phone. After her husband passed away she moved to Albuquerque with her daughters Joann and Sandra where she lived until her death.

The Family would like to thank the staff at PresNow ER, especially Maddie, RN, Sofia, Charge RN, John Devore, PA-C, and Dr. Delaney for the care they provided to our Mother and the comfort given to the family. They would also like to thank Daniels Family Funerals and Cremation for their service.

Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00am, Mass at 11:00am, and Graveside services immediately after the mass at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery, ending with a reception (Celebration of Life) at the Parish Hall.
