Erma was born on September 21, 1931 in Anthony, New Mexico, to Lesley and Emma Permenter. The oldest of 5 girls, her sisters - Lavoyda Williams of Oklahoma, Verna Marie Allen of New Mexico, Lola Morrow who preceded her in death and Lois Moody of Texas. Erma’s only brother Loyd Levi Permenter also preceded her in death.
Erma married Clarence Worthen November 28, 1949. Erma was preceded in death by Clarence, July 1, 2009. They spent 60 years together. During those years together they had 4 children, Larry and wife Valerie of Idaho, Beverly and husband David Blackwell of Arizona, Delbert and wife Lillian of New Mexico and Deeva Kight of New Mexico. Erma was extremely proud of their ten (10) grandchildren, eleven (11) great grandchildren and one (1) great-great grandchild. There are no words that would speak to the volume of love Erma held in her heart for each and every member of her family.
Erma graduated from Grants High School 1948 as Valedictorian of her class. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Services are to be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Grants Rodeo Grounds Cow Palace in Grants, New Mexico. Visitation at 10:00 , and services at 11:00 am. Burial services will follow immediately afterward at Grants Memorial Park, 500 West Roosevelt Avenue Grants, NM.
