Ernest Garcia

Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Ernest Garcia passed away in his home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Albuquerque New Mexico at the age of 84.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Ignacia Garcia, Brothers David Garcia and Thomas Garcia, and sister Alvita Chavez, and son Victor Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Carmelita Garcia, daughter, Annette Chapman and husband Kirk Chapman, sons Robert Garcia, Stephen Garcia and wife Laura, and Chris Garcia and wife Janine, as well as his grandsons Nathan Garcia, Ryan Chapman, Blake Garcia, Daniel Garcia, and Thomas Garcia, and granddaughters Sarah Garcia, Alexandra Garcia, and great grandson Brady Herman, and great granddaughter Phoebe Chapman.

Ernest was born February 11th, 1938 in Cedar Crest New Mexico to Thomas and Ignacia Garcia. He attended Albuquerque High School, graduating in 1956 before joining the Air Force, where he reached the rank of E-6 TSgt after serving for 21 years, including service in Vietnam.

Ernest married Carmelita Milligan on July 1st, 1957. After retiring from the air force, he was a service manager for Zangara Dodge for 18 years. He was an avid coin collector and loved to bowl, fish and camp. He regularly attended mass at the Shrine of Saint Bernadette with his family.

In his memory, services will be held at the Shrine of Saint Bernadette at 10:00 am, March 15th, located at 11509 Indian School RD NE in Albuquerque NM. Please join us for a reception following the services. Interment will be announced at a later date.
