Ernest A. Stenzel

STENZEL_ Ernest A. Stenzel, age 90, passed away at his home on Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born February 5, 1922 in New York City to Ernst and Kathern (Borst) Stenzel. Known to most as, Ernie; he was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. After retiring, Ernie and his wife moved from Patchhogue, NY to Surfside Beach, SC where they lived until moving to Rio Rancho about five years ago. During his years in the Long Island, NY area, Ernie and his family enjoyed boating. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in New York. Ernest is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen J.; sons, Robert A. Stenzel and wife Lynn of Albuquerque, Raymond J. Stenzel and wife Bonnie of Patchogue, NY; seven grandchildren, Alycia, Heather, William, Heidie, J.R., Danielle, James; two great-grandchildren, Paige and Austin and a cousin, Dorothy Schliemer of Myrtle Beach, SC. Ernie was preceded in death by his son, Ronald and sisters Wilma and Pauline. Visitation will take place at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 2400 Southern Blvd SE in Rio Rancho on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 6 pm until the Scripture service at 7 pm. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery 10:30 am on Monday, October 1, 2012.
