Estella Lucero

LUCERO - Estella Lucero, age 88, a gentle and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home with our dear Lord, peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Estella was a lifelong resident of Alameda, living her whole life in the same house. Estella had 12 children that meant the world to her. She loved to cook and open her home to all who entered. All who were lucky to be in her home, enjoyed a delicious meal. Estella loved her faith in everything she said and did throughout her life. She was a true inspiration to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Permenia Tafoya; her husband, Floran; her children, Robert Lucero, Edna Ortiz and Marcia Duran. Estella is survived by her loving children, Joe Lucero and wife LaVerne, Perma Saavedra and husband William, Frances Saiz and husband Louie, Arturo Lucero and wife Pauline, Mary Jane Candelaria and husband Phil, Isabel Sandoval and husband Chris, Salvador Lucero, Floran Lucero, Jr., and Stella Lucero; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Estella will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. Service of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Steve Lucero, Louie Saiz, Jr., Robbie Lucero, Michael Madrid, Art Lucero and Phil Ambrose Candelaria. Honorary Bearers will be Sonia Martinez, Renee Garcia and Angelo Lucero.
