Garcia, Estella "Stella" M.
Garcia, Estella Marie, "Stella", "Mama", passed from her earthly life, into her heavenly reward on October 12, 2015. She was a teacher at San Felipe Catholic School, and a substitute for 25 years with APS. After her retirement, her second home was the North Valley Senior Center. Here she made countless friends and loving memories. "Hasta la Vista, queridas amigas." She is preceded in death by her father Gabriel Jaramillo; mother Guadalupita; husband Eleuterio "Luther";, sisters Domitila "Domi" Casares, Alvina Prado; brother in-law David Prado, H.S. Hughes and Nicholas Casares. She is survived by her sisters Orelia "OJ" Hughes and Delia "Dee" Keating and husband; Louis; brothers Corcinio "Cory" Jaramillo and wife "Luvie", and Gabriel Jaramillo; son Luther and wife Karen, son Larry and wife Marcella, grandchildren Michelle Garcia, Elisa Chavez, and husband Matthew, Aaron Garcia and wife Amy, Elreena Garcia, Rebecca Ruckel and husband David; 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 6:30 pm, Daniels Family Funeral ~ Carlisle Chapel, with a reception to follow also at Daniels. Mass will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 9:00 am, San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 S. Plaza NW.
Interment will be on October 20, 2015 at 2:15 pm at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, where she will buried with her husband.
The family requests that instead of flowers, donations may be given to the American Heart Association in memory of Stella Garcia, 2201 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. The family wished to thank the nurses and doctors at Presbyterian Hospital and Anna Kaseman Hospice for their conscientious, kind, and loving care of our beloved.
