Eufelia Cruz Madrid, 101, of Bloomfield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 24, 2011. She was born in Buckman, NM on May 3, 1910 to Elena Velasques and Jose Loomis. Eufelia had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and was a long-standing member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she belonged to the Third Order of St. Francis. She made the best Mexican dishes when family visited, that will be passed down for generations to come. She lived a long, happy life surrounded by family and friends and touched the lives of so many. Eufelia will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Madrid, daughter, Angelina Gonzales, and great-grandson, John Gomez. She is survived by son, Jose (Sammy) Madrid and wife Lori; daughters, Stella Gomez, Lupita Sandoval, and Ernestine Culver; twenty grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-great grandchildren.
