Evangeline “Vangi” Monique Hernandez – Smock died unexpectedly in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 5th, 2021 at the age of 34.
Evangeline is survived by her husband Adam L. Smock, by her mother Veronica Montano – Davis and stepfather Shawn Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico, by her maternal grandmother Lydia Montano of Albuquerque, New Mexico, by her paternal grandfather Tony Hernandez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, by her brother Pete J. Hernandez and sister in law Francine Hernandez of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, by her sister Tiffaney Jean Davis of Maui, Hawaii, by her brother Jeremy Rathbun and sister in law Claudia Rathbun of Jacksonville, North Carolina. She is also survived by her loving furry family members, her dogs Ryu and Eve. Evangeline is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Tobias Montano and by her paternal grandmother Lillian Hernandez.
Evangeline was born on March 19th, 1987 to mother Veronica Montano and father Pedro Hernandez in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Sandia High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a part of the 2005 graduating class. Evangeline worked as a Health Care Assistant and as a Bartender in Hospitality Services.
Some special interests of Evangeline include animal training, cooking, hiking, fishing, yoga, photography, swing dancing, singing, and sea turtles. She also had a love for reading, music, movies, going on adventures, and spending time with friends and family.
Evangeline formerly was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was also a member of Job’s Daughters Youth Organization for Girls and Young Women of Albuquerque, NM.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 1:00PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Chapel 4310 Sara Rd. SE Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124. A Reception will follow the Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, held at her parent’s home located at 5042 Martin Place NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87114.
