Eve Victor, age 77, of Corrales, NM, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 after 14 years of a courageous battle from paralysis after a stroke. Through her journey, she taught those around her what it looks like to live bravely and always with joy and a smile. She was known for her trademark spunk, even until the end. Eve will forever be a bright, guiding light to her family and loved ones.
The last few years of her life she spent living in an assisted living home and was known as the “Oatmeal Pie Queen”, which she would hide from her nurses! Born in Phoenix, AZ on July 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Max Robert and Glorene Hundley. Her family moved to Paonia, CO where she graduated high school. Eve attended BYU and UNM, and was crowned Miss Albuquerque in 1967. On August 2, 1968, Eve married Eugene (Gene) Victor at the home of Eve’s parents in Albuquerque, NM. Eve and Gene were sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa Temple in 1975.
Eve was the quintessential sports mom and creator of many magical moments for her family and especially her four children: Dwayne, Darin, Brian and Caisa. She devoted countless hours supporting her children with their education, providing advice on personal situations, and through their countless hobbies. Eve never missed a baseball, basketball or softball game for her children. She was a devoted sports mom and fan. She was always available to discuss plays from any of her children’s games, and carried a special appreciation for the Lobos!
Eve was always willing to lend an ear to any family member or friend to provide advice or discuss a problem.
Eve also loved music, baking and sewing.
Eve was well known by family and friends for her musical talents and her amazing ability to play the piano and organ. Eve was also a lover of animals and plants. She served as a church leader for women and young women at her church. Most of all, family came first for Eve. Eve is survived by her loving husband, Eugene (Gene) Victor; children, Dwayne Victor of Broken Arrow, OK, Darin Victor of Gilbert, AZ, Brian Victor of Rio Rancho, NM, and Caisa Franklin of Rio Rancho, NM; and her most prized possessions, her 18 grandchildren. Eve relished in any opportunity to spoil her loved ones and especially loved doting on her grandchildren.
