Evelyn Ev"" Olga Murray

MURRAY - Evelyn Olga “Ev” Murray, 84, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 in Datil, New Mexico. Evelyn was born on December 12, 1926 to Joseph and Olga (Wodicka) Kadane in East Islip, New York. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 wonderful years of marriage, Michael J. Murray Jr.; her devoted children, Patricia Murray Preston and husband, John; Laurie Pohl and husband, John; Dr. Michael J. Murray III; and Terry Joseph Murray and wife, Jane; her grandchildren, Aileen Preston; Michelle McCabe and husband, Steven; John Michael, Zachary Tyler, and Steven Edward Pohl; Allison, Randy, Kevin, and Tyler James Murray; Sabrina, and Vantrese Chavez; Brandon, and Antonio Anaya; her great grandchildren, Kayla, Joseph, Samantha, and Matthew McCabe; and Hunter Pohl; her sister-in-law, Hazel Kadane; and her nephews, Barry, Raymond, and Craig Kadane. Ev was a resident of Datil for 13 years after moving from Long Island, NY, in 1997. She was a devoted member of the Santo Nino Catholic Church. Ev loved to play Bingo and was “Lucky” at it. She loved all animals, especially their cat, Puss-Puss; Lab, Chocolette; and their beloved Golden Retriever, Bo. Ev will be remembered for her talents in Opera singing and her love of baseball and the famous Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Mets. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her brother, Joseph Kadane, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael Joseph Murray Sr. and Anna Marie Murray, and her daughter-in-law, Sheila Murray. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Socorro Chapel from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Memorial Rosary and Memorial Mass of Resurrection have been planned for Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Navitity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Datil, NM, with Father Jeff King as Celebrant. Interment will follow on the Family land.
