Faith R. Coffey

Faith R. Coffey of Bernalillo, NM, passed from this earth to be with the Lord on May 20, 2021. She was born in Flagstaff, Az on September 8, 1938. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Mamie Ross, and grandson Allen Coffey. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leon K. Coffey, brothers Rex Ross and wife Judy, Max Ross and wife Sandy; children, Fonda Sanchez and husband Robert, Rayna Williams, Rod Coffey and wife Anna, and Ned Coffey and friend Katrina Lason; grandchildren Miranda Simmons, Yvonne Stevens, Brian Williams, Kayla Simmons and husband Kerry, Jason Sanchez, and Camille Coffey, Luis Bubba Olague, and Jasmine Olague. Faith and Leon went to college at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales after having 4 children, where Faith graduated with a teaching degree. She taught for 28 years and absolutely loved it. She had a passion for teaching and learning that is rarely seen. She went over and above to make connections with students, their parents, and fellow staff members. Faith leaves behind a legacy of love for God, family, cooking, music, and laughter. She was a funny and slightly ornery wife, sister, Granny, and friend. She will be sorely missed in the days and years to come. We love you so, Faith (Mama)!
