Fareeza H. Belcher

Fareeza H. Belcher passed away peacefully on November 26, 2017 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by her loving family.  Born March 6, 1933, in Duran, New Mexico, Fareeza was a native New Mexican.  She graduated high school in Vaughn, NM, and attended college at the University of New Mexico. 

Fareeza was preceded in death by her parents, Milhem and Rasmie Hindi; husband Jack T. Belcher; daughter Lori Hindi; granddaughter Jenifer Hale; brothers Basheer Hindi, Shawkeet Hindi, Ficel Hindi and sister Monira Hindi-Green; nieces Mary Elizabeth Green and Dali Sue Hindi. 

She is survived by her son Joseph A. Hutton; daughter Debi H. Hale and husband Steve; grandchildren Krista L. Hale and Geoffrey A. Hutton.  She is also survived by brothers Moneer Hindi, Baheej Hindi, Azeez Hindi and sister Lila Hindi; sisters-in-law Jody Hindi and Lois Hindi as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. 

Fareeza worked at a toy and yarn store in her early 20’s, then began working at Albuquerque National Bank.  She retired from banking 30 years later as an assistant vice president.  She spent the post-retirement time traveling to many locations including several trips to Hawaii with her loving husband and family.  She also volunteered her time to many worthwhile agencies such as the Ronald McDonald House, Albuquerque Convention Visitors Bureau including the Albuquerque International Airport and Old Town Visitor’s Center.

Even as her illness progressed, she never failed to ask if there was something she could do for someone else.   Her bright eyes and smile will be dearly missed.  She will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Fareeza’s memorial service and reception will be held Saturday December 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM  87109.
