Felix Sanchez

SANCHEZ - Felix Sanchez born January 15, 1922, in Ojo del Espirito Santo, NM, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 12, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Teodorita Sanchez; sisters, Cruzita Pena, Teofila Gallegos and Rita Chavarria. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Porfiria Sanchez; his children, Shirley Sanchez and husband Tony, Rosemary Valdez and husband Joddie, Julia Gutierrez and husband Felix, Leroy Sanchez and wife Evelyn, Francisco Sanchez and wife Lorraine, Bridget Gutierrez and husband Sosteno, Laura Valdez and husband Bobby, Ruben Sanchez and wife Daphnie, Julian Sanchez and wife Debbie; brothers, Moises Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, David Sanchez and wife Petrolina; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. Felix will be greatly missed. PFC Sanchez honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II, he was awarded two Battle Stars, Combat Infantry medal, and a Purple Heart. He retired from Duke City Lumber. Pall Bearers will be his grandchildren, Jolynn Sandoval, Sabrina Chavez, Justin Valdez, Candie, Sherilyn, Nolan, Stephanie and Jonoah Sanchez. Honorary Bearers will be LeAnn, Jessica, Kimberly, Fabian, Eliyana, Lisette and SSgt. Felicia who is currently serving in Iraq and couldn't be with us during this time.
