Filimon Gonzales loving Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Great Great Grandpa and Brother, age 83, went to be with our Lord and savior Friday July 30, 2016 at 7:30 am. Born in Cuba, NM to Pablo and Candeleria Gonzales on May 16, 1933. Formerly from Bernalillo, NM; he resided in Rio Rancho, NM.
He grew up in a loving home with 13 siblings, with Filimon being the youngest. At 9 years old he discovered a treasure of a lifetime, that treasure was named Isabel (Moya) Gonzales. Filimon and his new found cherished treasure did not wait long to marry and start a family of their own.
Within their 60 years of marriage they built a family of 7 children and raised them with God, love and respect. Filimon was a business man, a very wise business man. So wise in fact he knew the best business partner shared his last name, his wife Isabel.
Together they owned and sold many profitable businesses from the early days of owning a gas station, real estate to the latter of delivering and selling fruit. All their faithful business skills lead them to their family owned and operated business Gonzales Wood Stakes, where it truly was a family affair in which every one of their children helped or learned the trade. At the heart of this talented business man was a musician at heart with a passion for the accordion, he played every chance he could.
He is survived by his Sister Martina and Brother Johnny Gonzales; by his 7 children Sylvia Gonzales; Rudy Gonzales; Konnie Gonzales; Eddie Gonzales; Veronica Boyd; Andrew Gonzales; Bonnie Gonzales, and Amir Gonzales. His legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his precious and beautiful wife Isabel Gonzales; his mother; father, and 11 siblings.
