Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Flora Chastie Eaton Kennedy of Kirtland, New Mexico departed this life Monday, June 20, 2011 Flora was born October 10, 1926 to Evaline Biggs and Wallace Rodulphus Eaton, of Cline, Colorado. Flora was the youngest of ten children. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Walter Monroe Kennedy, and a son Laverne Moore. She is survived by daughter Lavina Bailey (Frank) and Ivan Kennedy (Donna). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Flora and Walter were married December 27, 1945 in Aztec, New Mexico. Later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple, September 21, 1975. Flora was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities in the church. She enjoyed attending the temple as the opportunity permitted. She was a wonderful Christ-like example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will always be grateful for the exemplary life she led. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren and she spent many hours with them. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington. . A second viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A memorial service will be held at the LDS Kirtland Stake Center at 1:00 pm County Road 6523, Kirtland, New Mexico, with Collin Hatch conducting.
