MILLEA, FLORENCE J Age 95, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013. Florence was born in Shelton, Connecticut on February 8, 1918, the third child of John and Julia Estok Joseph. She married her beloved husband John in 1941 and they enjoyed 66 wonderful years together until John`s death in 2007. They were the proud parents of three children, Bob, Ellen and John. Residents of Rio Rancho since 1972, Florence and John were active members and daily communicants at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Florence deeply loved her family and her parish. She was one of the founding members of the Catholic Daughters of America of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and the Felician Sisters Auxiliary. A true people person Florence spent many years as a volunteer at the Rio Rancho City Hall and Chamber of Commerce and had recently begun serving at the Ambassador`s Desk at the Village of Alameda, her new home. All who knew and loved Florence in her later years were also friends of her faithful four-legged companion, Harley. Florence loved making many types of handcrafts for family, friends and charities. One outstanding project was the making of hundreds of knitted caps for needy children in Albania. Florence was deeply loved by her children, Robert and his wife Rebecca of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Sr.; Clare Millea, ASCJ, of Rome, Italy; John and his wife Sherry of Corrales; her grandchildren, Dr. Casandra Millea of Rio Rancho; Jeffrey and Amanda Millea of Albuquerque, with their sons, Miller and Sullivan; Justin and Leanne Millea of Rio Rancho, with their children Linkin and Finnley.
