Frances Marie Bass

Frances “Marie” Bass passed away in Rio Rancho at Genesis Nursing Center on December 10, 2019 in Rio Rancho, NM with her children by her side, She was 87 years young.  Ms. Bass was born January 31, 1932 in Byrome, Texas to her parents Soloman Jerry and Minnie Lorene Bass. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1949 and married Harvey D. Large in December of that year. They were married for 27 years. Ms Bass worked for Pioneer Wear, Sandia Base and Kelly Girl over the years. She also worked in the tourism industry in Red River, NM and did house sitting in the Albuquerque area after moving back.  Ms Bass wrote gospel songs and poetry. She received several awards from the World of Poetry for her work. 

She is preceded in death by her parents S.J. and Minnie Lorene Bass, former spouse Harvey D. Large,Sr., Daughter Jayne Hopper, Brother Lovan Bass and great grandson RJ Waltz.

She is survived by:  Three children; Linda Loushine (Joe), Beckie Veach (Norm)  and H. David Large, Jr (Ed). and their spouses, of Rio Rancho, NM, her sister Jerene Dixon, 4 grandchildren; Brian Waltz, Leslie Wagner, Shianne Hopper and Randy Waltz, and 7 great grandchildren; Kai Wagner, Joshua and Zachary Waltz, Marilyn and Evan Hopper, and Zoey and Liam Waltz.  

A memorial and celebration service for Ms Bass will be held At Daniels Family Funeral Chapel on Sarah Rd in Rio Rancho, NM on January 25, 2020 at 2:00 P.M.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marie’s life with her children.
