Frances A. Birkhauser

Birkhauser, Frances A, 84, passed away January 29, 2012. She was born October 4, 1927, in St. Cloud, Wisconsin to Clara (Kohlman) and Frank Berenz. Frances is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Birkhauser; children, Debbie Birkhauser and husband Patrick McDaniel, Paul Birkhauser and wife Cari, Betti Trahan and husband Michael, Gerard Birkhauser, Nancy Birkhauser and Glen Schrank, Mark Birkhauser, and Kim Gilliland and husband Robert; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-grand children. Frances enjoyed being a military wife and living on Air Force bases in Bermuda, Washington, Michigan, Texas, Germany and New Mexico. She worked as an educational assistant and retired from Albuquerque Public Schools in 1999. Frances was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and baking and is renowned for her chocolate chip cookies. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix NE, Albuquerque, NM. Visitation will follow that Thursday evening, February 2, 2012, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque, NM with a Rosary being recited at 7:30 pm.
